Families has been developed to assist UCP of Orange County
address unmet needs
specific to families who have children with special needs. This group will primarily supplement services
currently being provided by UCP in an attempt to bring families closer together in support of one another and UCP.
The group is a volunteer effort comprised
of parents, caregivers, and other concerned individuals with a willingness to support the
primary goals. For information about joining or supporgin this group, email Nicole Elder, chair of the UCP Auxiliary, at

through networking, support and social opportunities in support
of the UCP mission.
BENEFICIARIES
The activities of the UCP Auxiliary will benefit any family that currently
receives or is eligible to receive services from UCP.
LEAD TEAM

currently consists of four parents involved with UCP services. Each
team member will focus on one of the three key pillars (below). Additional
team members will be sought out to assist with the group’s
efforts. Membership is not limited to parents/caregivers. Ideally,
the lead team will consist of 6-10 members dedicated to the mission.

Director of Development.
GOALS/OBJECTIVES All activities provided by UCP Auxiliary will focus on
at least one of the three key pillars:
Networking/Support Opportunities for Parents
Deliverable - Special Moms Club
The Special Moms Club will be a bimonthly informal social gathering held
in locations throughout Orange County. This gathering will provide an opportunity
for moms
to connect with other moms who can more closely relate to their parenting
challenges. It will be a safe space for the moms to focus on their personal
needs.
Social Opportunities
for Children
Deliverable - Kids’ Day
Kids’ Day will be a quarterly event bringing all children together in
celebration of their differences and similarities. It will be open to all children,
including siblings. 5-6 stations will be arranged to accommodate the children’s
abilities permitting them to enjoy each other and the day.
Fundraising/Volunteering
for UCP
Deliverable - Direct
Assistance Direct assistance will be provided to support existing fundraising
efforts, provide a pool of willing volunteers, and explore new
opportunities to raise funds for and awareness about UCP.
