Q: Does United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County only serve individuals with cerebral palsy?
A: No! In fact, 64% of the individuals we serve have a disability other than cerebral palsy. We serve individuals with a variety of developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome, spina bifida, mental retardation, and autism, among others.

Q: What is the age of the people served by UCP of Orange County?
A: Most of the individuals we serve directly are children from birth to age 18. However, at UCP, we understand the importance of the entire family in the life of a child. To support families, we offer many programs and services for parents and families .

Q: How many individuals do you serve each year?
A: UCP of Orange County serves over 2,500 children and families each year.

Q: How much of my donation goes directly to helping people with disabilities?
A: UCP spends 84 cents out of every dollar on direct services. The remaining 16 cents is wisely used to support the infrastructure that will sustain UCP for the next 50 years.

Q: I prefer to have services provided in a language other than English. Do you have staff that can speak other languages?
A:

Absolutely. UCP has a multilingual staff that speaks English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. We also have materials printed in these other languages.

Q: Where can I find appropriate recreation and toys for children with special needs?
A: UCP has compiled many community recourses on our RECREATION page. For appropriate toys for children with special needs, we suggest the LetsPlay catalog.
